BFT, a global fitness chain, is opening its first location on Long Island.
The company will be opening a 2,649-square-foot location at a pad site in the Huntington Shopping Center at 350 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station. It’s expected to open by the end of the month.
BFT, which stands for Body Fit Training, offers a variety of customized 50-minute group-training programs that include cardio, strength, core stability and more. Founded in 2017 in Melbourne, Australia by fitness industry veteran Cameron Falloon, BFT uses science and technology-based training techniques to achieve individual member goals in a coach-led group environment.
The all-in cost to open a BFT franchise ranges from $363,900 to $538,500, according to the company’s franchise information.
BFT has more than 240 locations worldwide, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the U.K. and the U.S., with dozens more opening soon. BFT is one of 10 fitness brands under the Xponential Fitness umbrella, which includes Stretch Lab, Club Pilates, Rumble, Pure Barre, Cyclebar and more.
YogaSix, a growing chain of yoga studios that’s also under the Xponential Fitness, just opened its first Long Island location. Long Island’s first YogaSix opened in an 1,846-square-foot retail space in The Shoppes at Country Pointe at 1481 Old Country Road in Plainview last week.
Xponential Fitness was founded by Anthony Geisler in 2017. It was formed to integrate boutique fitness brands on one platform. Xponential Fitness and its family of brands is the largest global franchisor of boutique fitness brands in the world, with over 2,750 global locations.
Daniel Glazer of RIPCO Real Estate represented BFT, while Joe Byrnes served as in-house representative for landlord Federal Realty in the Huntington Station lease transaction.
